Literature Text

It was early afternoon by the time the Tribalterriermon had finished their preparations for their festival. Aside from the aforementioned podium, the entire village had basically been turned into a carnival. There were skill games, snack stands, even a few souvenir shops splayed out across the town in a series of midways, and down one of those midways wobbled Kari, still spherical and still big footed. As she made her way down the midway, other Tribalterriermon stepped aside to allow her to pass and all around her there were comments of "What a great performance!" or "Thank you so much for coming." Kari herself just smiled and nodded as best she could.

"Wow. I hope my head doesn't get as big as my body with all these compliments. I guess it was a good idea after all to split up after all." She said as she approached a snack stand. The sign on the stand said "Air Pockets: A taste of heaven in every bite." , the shelves in the booth were lined with bags of what looked like cotton candy.

"Hmmm. I don't remember the last time I had some good cotton candy, and I've certainly never had any from the Digi-world. Maybe the girls would like some."

The attendant at the stand gave Kari four bags of Air Pockets compliments of the house and she waddled off to find her friends. Conveniently enough, she found them all in one place, around the fountain in the center of town. Mimi and Sora had managed to squeeze themselves onto a bench and were sharing a soda, which was conveniently situated between their bodies, while Yolie was staring at the fountain with a thoughtful look on her face, obviously trying to figure out what was so special about the water. Kari passed out the candy and they all took their first bite together.

"Mmmm. Thanks Kari! There really is a taste of Heaven in every bite." Sora said as she licked her lips.

"I agree Sora. In fact I….Hey Kari? Is that the only thing you've eaten lately?"
Kari swallowed before answering. "That's funny Mimi, I was about to ask Yolie the same question."

Yolie glowered. "Kari what do you mean?

"Well, no offence, but you actually look a little bigger." Kari replied.

"Well, that's silly. You know that I'm taller than you Kari."

"Uhhh. I don't think that's what she meant Yolie." Said Mimi with an unsure tone.

She looked down to see what her friends were talking about and suddenly realized that the ground was a little farther away than she last remembered. Not only that, but Yolie could swear that she felt the grass moving underneath her, almost as if more of it was gathering underneath her feet!

"Sora, would you mind scooting over a bit?" Mimi piped up. "I think you're squishing me."

"I'm already against the arm rest Mimi, why don't you move over?" Sora replied.

"Because you're both getting bigger!" Kari cried out.

It was true! Both Sora and Mimi's spherical forms, already of considerable size, were growing even bigger!

"We all are! Our feet too!" shouted Yolie in surprise.

All four girls were now a head taller than they were a second ago as well as a few inches wider, and each of their feet had gone up a size in the little time that they were talking together.

"Quick help us up!" ordered Mimi, her voice laced with panic. "We have to get off this bench before we get too big for it, and we have to get away from town before we get too big for it too!"

Kari and Yolie did their best to lean forward and grab the stubby hands of their friends, which was rather difficult considering that neither of them could lean over anymore without their torsos touching the ground. As each girl finally got a solid grip, the two younger girls gave a tremendous heave, and with a loud "POP!", Sora and Mimi were free.

"We've got to get to a safe place before anything else happens!" cried Yolie, and the four globular girls immediately dashed off in the direction of the towns nearest exit. Their worries were well founded however, and with practically every massive step they took, their massive forms got bigger and bigger! Before long, the girls had to use extreme caution so as not to knock over any buildings or Tribalterriermon passerby.

However as the girls made their way through the city, the news of this new spectacle was spreading through the town like a plague. When the girls finally made it out of the village of the Tribalterriermon, they each had become the most strangely shaped blimps that you would ever see. Mimi, Sora, Kari, and Yolie had each began at relatively the size of the 1971 blueberry girl from Willy Wonka, the girls now found themselves swollen to the size of the blueberry girl from the more modern version. Their feet had also grown too much larger proportions and each one was literally three feet tall and fourteen feet long!

The village's denizens gathered around the enormous figures with the chief at the head of the crowd. The towering figures seemed to rise up to heaven itself, but the chief had to risk it. The plucky little digimon ran to a spacious spot next to Sora, jumped with all his might and bounced off of the top of Sora's foot! The chief rocketed into the air like he had just sprung off of a giant trampoline and just managed to grab the front of Sora's uniform and start climbing.

Yolie couldn't believe it. She never would've imagined that her day would turn out this way. She was having fun at first, with the song and the festival, but now she just felt silly. She was immobile, barefoot and helpless but at least she wasn't alone. Then Yolie glanced up and saw the chief standing right in front of her. She tried to speak but her head had been pulled in and all that she could manage were a few confused muffles.

"Don't worry, Yolie! I'm sure that you have a few concerns right now but I'm here to tell you that you have nothing to worry about."

"Now he tells me." She thought to herself.

"You see," he continued. "This was actually supposed to happen. With me getting on in years my memory isn't what it used to be and I forgot to mention that there are actually two stages to the effects of the water. You won't get any bigger than this and you certainly won't pop, in fact this is a good thing. This is a sign that the effects of the water are going to wear off soon. In fact, we figure that by the time that we get you back to the port that you came through you'll be back to normal. I've already talked it over with your friends, so they know too. My you should've seen the color Mimi's face turned."

With that the little creature slid down Yolies' body and disappeared from site. Yolie breathed a small sigh of relief that she seemed to feel throughout her entire body, which felt pretty good considering the obvious. Now all she had to do was wait and she would be her old self again, but then Yolie stopped and wondered:

"What did he mean by "by the time we get you back?"

Then she felt it. The sky above her started to move and she began to feel less and less of the ground under her feet. Before she knew it, Yolie was lying on her back and staring at an upside-down landscape. She also noticed that she was staring at the lower hemisphere of Kari, who had also been rolled onto her back. It was like looking at an inflated hot air balloon with a giant pair of feet on it, and Yolie probably would've laughed at that if it weren't for the fact that she suddenly felt herself moving again. Not just moving, rolling. Rolling in a direction that she couldn't discern, all that she knew that she couldn't stop.

"Heave ho!" All the Tribalterriermon called out together as they gave a mighty shove and sent their last guest rolling away. The crowd all shouted farewells and waved goodbye from their home as the enormous balls rolled away into the sunset. The chief stood by himself as he watched.

"You did us great honor girls." He thought to himself. "I wonder if they still would've participated if I had remembered all of the symptoms. They may be practically the size of mountains now but they'll probably laugh about it later, besides, I always did like the site of the rolling hills."
Another one of my additions that took way to long to finish.

I admit that I've had a lot on my plate lately with my recent graduation from college and having to take care of my property again with the recent weather change.

But now I'm ready to try something different and give the Totally Spies universe a try. Hopefully then I'll be able to finish things a little bit better.

P.S. That last line in the story is meant to be a joke.
